Create or Edit a Web Channel

  • Updated

A web channel is used to provide persistent embed options that you can use to display the most recent broadcast associated with the channel. The embed codes and Stream URLs will display your content for up to 30 days or until you replace it with another broadcast. If you want to broadcast multiple events simultaneously, you will need to create a new web channel for each one.  (Depending on your subscription, streaming to multiple web channels at the same time may require an additional web event license. Contact the Resi Success team to learn more.)

Web channels can be managed in Studio through Settings > Web Channels.

Web channels are also where you can choose to enable or disable automated subtitles.

You must have a Starter Lite plan or higher to create a web channel.

  1. In Studio, navigate to Settings > Web Channels.

Change an Event's Web Channel

If you’ve already scheduled an event with a web destination, you can easily edit the event and change the web channel it will be stored in. This is useful if you’ve accidentally scheduled the broadcast to a web channel you don’t want to lose content for or simply to organize content.

Please note that changing the web channel for a scheduled event that's started will have no affect on the web channel it's stored in. Once a broadcast begins, the content will be stored in the originally selected web channel.

To change the web channel for an existing scheduled event:

  1. Navigate to the Schedule page.
  2. Click the event you want to change the web channel for > Destinations tab
  3. Click the edit icon image9.png in the top-right, then the edit icon next to the destination you want to change the web channel for.  image5.png
  4. Select the web channel you want the content to be stored in from the Web Channel dropdownimage10.png

Click Save in the modal, then Save again at the bottom of the Event Details page. The event will now be stored in the new web channel.  image6.png
