How Do I Change My Event Start Time?

  • Updated

In some cases, you may need to change your event’s start time after you’ve scheduled it. For example, if a speaker is going to begin earlier or later than expected, or one of your sessions was unexpectedly canceled, you may need to adjust when the event begins.

You can adjust the start time for live, replay, or saved video events. When you do so, Studio will automatically adjust the broadcast times of each destination to reflect that change.

For example, let’s say you have a scheduled event beginning at 9:30 a.m., the broadcast is going to be live to your destinations from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., and you need it to start an hour later. If you adjust the event start time to 10:30 a.m., your destination broadcast times will automatically adjust to be live from 10:45 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.

You can adjust start times for events scheduled to happen in the future and those that are currently running. You won’t be able to configure an event in the past to run again by adjusting the start time.

This guide assumes that you’ve already scheduled an event. Learn more

If you’re broadcasting to a physical location and not to the web or social media, you only need to adjust the event and, in some cases, encoder start times.

Adjusting Event Start Times

To change the start time for an already-scheduled event:

  1. Navigate to the Schedule page.
  2. Click the event you need to modify.
  3. Navigate to the Details tab.
  4. Click the edit icon image4.png in the top-right.
  5. Under Schedule, change the Start Time to your desired start time.  image5.png

When you change the event start time, the scheduler adjusts your destinations’ broadcast time automatically to reflect it. The duration of your event will remain the same unless you also adjust it. (Learn more). If you need to change the broadcast time for one or more destinations, you can do so by configuring the broadcast time sliders.

For more information on changing a web or social media destination broadcast time, see the section Adjusting Destination Start Times below.
