Broadcast a Library Video

With a Content Library subscription, you can save videos and embed them in a page or broadcast them to viewers as scheduled events. This allows you to schedule library videos for playback as live to viewers. 

You can set up a library video broadcast to a web destination from the video itself or the Schedule page. Currently, you cannot manually start from a library video.  

Plays when embedding a library video are not reported in event analytics. However, if you schedule a library video to broadcast to a web destination, viewership at that destination will be reported in Studio’s event analytics.

Schedule a Broadcast from a Library Video

You can start scheduling a broadcast of your library videos from the Schedule page or from the Library tab.

Schedule a library event from the calendar

1. Navigate to the Schedule page in Studio.
2. Click+ Add Event in the top right.
3. Fill out the details for your event, including:

• • Name
  • Description (optional)
  • Start time
  • If the event will repeat. Toggling Repeats on creates a recurring schedule where you can rebroadcast the video several times. Learn more
  • If you would like to apply these the name, description and/or thumbnail to multiple broadcast destinations. Not all details are applicable to all destinations. Learn more

4. Select Library as the content source. The duration will change to automatically reflect how long the video is. You won't be able to edit it.
5. Click Select Library Video and pick the video you want to broadcast. 
6. Add and configure your destinations using the + Add Destination button. Learn more

When configuring destinations, the broadcast time slider, web channel, and web preset options will be unavailable due to the nature of broadcasting a library video.

7. Click Save.

The event will appear on your calendar and the video will begin broadcasting at the time you selected. 

Schedule a broadcast from the Library tab

1. Navigate to the Library page in Studio.
2. Hover over the video you want to schedule a broadcast for and click the actions icon > Schedule. 
3. Fill out the details for your event, including:

• • Name
  • Description (optional)
  • Start time
  • If the event will repeat. Learn more

4. Select Library as the content source. 
5. Add and configure your destinations using the + Add Destination button. Learn more
6. Click Save.

Your event will appear on your schedule and the library video will begin broadcasting at the time you selected.
